Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Petite Sirah opens with a blueberry and plum bouquet with hints of spice drop and brown sugar. On the palate, this wine is full bodied and slightly acidic. It is also smooth and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a mild blueberry with notes of blackberry. I also detected hints of stewed plum, black pepper and dark chocolate mixed in. The finish is dry and its nicely integrated fine tannins fade away nicely. This is a very friendly Petite Sirah. You can enjoy this Petite Sirah with a messy rack of ribs or a veal chop. Enjoy – Ken and Roy
Winemaker Notes: The wine has very distinct blue and blackberry aromas followed by subtle aromas of vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, and slight oak toastiness. The mouthfeel is solid, with medium body and very soft and elegant (for Petite) tannins that accentuate the wine’s long and juicy finish. The wine is delicious now but with some patients and proper aging in 3-8 years, it will be even better.
