Wine Review: This very dark purple colored wine finished in second place in our recent blind tasting. It opens with an attractive boysenberry bouquet with hints of smoky oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, very fruit forward and juicy. The flavor profile is a very tasty blueberry with hints of vanilla and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its well managed tannins are nicely prolonged. The panel suggested pairing this Petite Sirah with a Steak Diane followed by a big hunk of German chocolate cake. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The quickest way to describe this wine is "dark and delicious"! Loads of blackberry, blueberry and dark cherries are enveloped in toasty oak aromas of cocoa powder, vanilla and a touch of graphite. On the mouth the wine is big, rich and extracted but with remarkably civilized tannins for this variety.
