Wine Review: This translucent ruby colored Pinot Noir from the Anderson Valley opens with a fragrant pomegranate, craisin and black cherry bouquet with hints of anise. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and a bit savory. The flavor profile is initially concentrated and very forward. It features extracted black raspberry and black cherry with notes of anise, black tea, black pepper, and cedar. I also detected hints of clove and stewed black plum. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity mild tannins drift away nicely. This wine benefits from aeration, I would recommend decanting this wine before serving it with a crostini with duck confit. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Embodying the rustic beauty of great Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, this wine offers aromas of earthy forest floor, pennyroyal, and anise. On the palate, alluring flavors of wild strawberry and black cherry emerge, with sophisticated hints of leather and French oak adding nuance and depth to a tantalizing finish.
