Wine Review: This straw-colored Chardonnay opens with a mild pineapple, Meyer lemon and light oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, balanced, and juicy. The flavor profile reflects the 35% new French oak that was used in making the wine. Beyond the oak is a pear and mild pineapple blend with notes of lemon verbena. I also detected hints of white pepper and nutmeg in the mix. The finish is dry and refreshing for a Chard with a heavy oak influence. If you like oaky Chard and are looking for a nice wine for the beach this summer. Chill up a bottle and bring it to the beach with some Jasper Hill Farm's Willoughby cheese. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This beautifully aromatic Chardonnay offers alluring aromas of Fuji apple, peach, and lemon custard, as well as French oak-inspired hints of graham cracker, vanilla and sweet baking spices. On the palate, a bright, energetic acidity adds to the poise and purity of the citrus and orchard fruit flavors, while an undercurrent of creamy richness carries the wine to a long, supple finish.
