Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Pinot Noir from Bien Nacido opens with a cherry and pomegranate bouquet with a hint of vanilla, rhubarb, and strawberry licorice. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, balanced, and juicy. The flavor profile is red plum and red licorice blend with hints of pomegranate, red raspberry, and oolong tea. The finish is dry, a tad hot and fades away nicely. The Panel would pair this Pinot with a variety of dishes. A few choices are red Chinese-style spareribs, a braised veal chop with Tuscan spices, or chicken Marrakesh. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: One of California's Grand Cru-caliber vineyards, Bien Nacido has yielded a gloriously lush and velvety expression of Pinot Noir, with bright red berry aromas and hints of white pepper spice. On the palate, bright acidity adds refinement to the Bing cherry, strawberry and cranberry flavors, with soft, silky tannins carrying the wine to a juicy, mouth-filling finish.
