Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast opens with a pomegranate and celery like bouquet with a hint of black raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied and slightly acidic. Yet it also has a smooth and round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a spiced plum with notes of toasted oak and black pepper. I also detected hints of mild minerality, sweet tea and black raspberry. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity are nicely prolonged. This Pinot does benefit from a little air, so swirl it briskly and enjoy it with a blackened salmon with lime butter sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This complex cool-climate Pinot Noir displays lovely texture and tension. On the nose, layers of blackberry, raspberry, moist earth and fresh-cut grass evolve and expand over time. The robust dark berry flavors continue on the palate, where they are underscored by a firm, sophisticated structure that adds nuance and grip.
