Wine Review: This straw-colored Chardonnay from the "Charles Heinz Vineyard" is very impressive. It opens with a pleasant green melon and pineapple bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and silky smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty gentle oak and mineral influenced Anjou pear with notes of pineapple and a touch of honey towards the end. The finish is dry and its flavors sail away nicely. I would pair this Chard with chicken francese. Enjoy – Ken.
Winemaker Notes: Balancing a rich, silky texture with beautiful structure and acidity, this wine shows why the old-vine Chardonnay from Charles Heintz Vineyard is so coveted. Entrancing aromas of juicy ripe pear, honey and peach rise from the glass, along with hints of flowers. The lush fruit notes continue on the palate, where they are supported by seamlessly integrated French oak from aging in barrel.
