Wine Review: This translucent and deep purple colored Barbera from Michele Chiarlo is very good. It opens with a blackberry, fresh cut cedar, and black licorice bouquet with hints of loam, coffee, and graphite. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with bold moderate acidity. The mouthfeel has good structure and fresh. The flavor profile features slightly jammy blackberry and black licorice flavors along with notes of cedar, oregano, and blueberry. We also detected hints of Christmas mulling spices and orange zest towards the end. The finish is dry, and its gentle tannins and flavors show moderate length. We would pair this tasty Barbera with your favorite Bolognese recipe. Enjoy - Ken & Mark

Nose: Surprising for its clarity and elegance, red fruit, mature cherry, raspberry and the sweet notes of tobacco.
Taste: Complex, structured and impresses for its fresh softness and roundness; pleasing savory finish.
