Wine Review: Always a favorite with the tasting panel, this year's vintage finished in third place in our big blind tasting. It is opaque and very dark purple colored. It opens with a blueberry and vanilla oak bouquet with a hint of smoke. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, rich, and complex. The flavor profile of this big boy is a black raspberry and coffee blend with a heavy dose of oak mixed in. Panelists also detected black pepper and dark chocolate notes that add to its intrigue. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are dusty. The panel suggested pairing this wine with Kona encrusted steak or roast duck breast. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Big, ripe dark berries leave just a hint of sweetness on the tongue with overtones of chocolate and tobacco. A long peppery finish follows. Ample tannins and substantial body make this one enormous and delicious swallow of wine.
