Wine Review: This almost clear colored Sauvignon Blanc from Meyer Family opens with a petrol and mild grapefruit bouquet with hints of lemon and tomato leaf. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied, well-balanced, juicy and nicely coats your mouth. The flavor profile is a tasty mild white grapefruit and lime blend with notes of chalky limestone. We also detected hints of lemon verbena and green pepper mixed in. The finish is dry, refreshing and has nice length. The Panel would pair this Sauvignon Blanc with a fried grouper sandwich or grilled swordfish. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The long hang time in 2019 resulted in our most complex Sauvignon Blanc to date. Out of the bottle, the wine bursts with juicy fruit flavors of ripe melon and nectarine, backed up aromatic notes of nutmeg, lemongrass, and a little pink grapefruit. As always, given the cool-climate location of the vineyard, this Sauvignon Blanc shows a streak of lean minerality. We soften that edge by giving it four months of age in neutral French oak barrels, which adds a degree more complexity and richness.
