Wine Review: This Pinot Noir from Metzker is slightly opaque and very dark ruby colored. It opens with a very inviting black raspberry and plum bouquet. Initially on the palate, this wine is full bodied, rather acidic and a bit racy with lots of juicy fruit. However, with some aeration, the wine smooth's out and settles in nicely. The primary fruit flavors are black raspberry and black plum with notes of gentle oak, cola and black pepper. I also detected some hints of cinnamon and strawberry. The finish is dry and its flavors linger for quite a long time. I would pair this Pinot with crispy Peking duck. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is lively and playful, opening up with aromas of dried rose petals, violets and wild berries. As the wine warms in your glass, more layers of fruit and baking spices reach your senses. The mellow and smooth tannins are a perfect balance to the racy acidity on the mouthfeel. There is a long-lasting finish of freshness with this wine, making it food friendly and hard not to pour another glass.
