Wine Review: This pale straw colored Chardonnay from the Richie Vineyard is impressive. It opens a mild pear bouquet with a hint of honey and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and develops a richness as it evolves. The flavor is a very tasty oak influenced pear and butterscotch blend with hints of pineapple and vanilla. The finish is dry and its flavors sail along for an extended period. This is a very classy Chardonnay that continues to open up, the longer it is open. I would pair the yummy Chard with lobster bisque. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2016 Chardonnay from Ritchie Vineyard has aromas of honeysuckle, melon and lemon rind. There is an underlying layer of nuttiness reminiscent of smoked hazelnuts that gracefully comes through. With its full body and lavish mouthfeel, this wine is balanced by the minerality and acidity characteristic of these 40-year-old vines on the Ritchie Vineyard property.
