Wine Review: This opaque black colored Cab finished in 4th place in our blind tasting of High End Reds. This big boy opens with a fragrant black currant like bouquet with hints of plum, nutmeg, and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, dense, extremely well balanced, and smooth as silk. The flavor profile is a delicious blend of black raspberry, tobacco, bacon, and menthol. The finish is very dry and its enormous tannins stick with you for minutes. This hedonistic wine would pair well with a filet mignon with Hollandaise sauce in 5 years. If you want it now, we suggest decanting. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2005 Merus is dense purple-colored to the rim, with an exquisite nose of charcoal, graphite, and blackberry liqueur. Full-bodied, with great power, richness, and sensational length, this wine will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle-age and last three decades.
