Wine Review: This midnight black colored Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a black currant and black licorice bouquet with hints of black tea, blueberry, and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with moderate acidity. The mouthfeel is very well balanced, polished, seamless, and bright. The flavor profile is a black plum and cassis blend with notes of chalky minerality, black cherry and oak. We also detected hints of muddled mint, clove, and chocolate. The finish is dry and its tannins build-up and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would decant this Cab for at least an hour and then serve it with porterhouse steak or braised short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2019 Merus opens with deep aromas of cassis and blackberry, with layers of vanilla bean, cedar, graphite and a subtle minerality. Full bodied on the palate with plush, velvety tannins and signature flavors of saturated black fruits. A fine grain oak texture lingers on the smooth finish. A wine of great structure and power, it will continue to develop further complexity with bottle age and show best over the next 15-25 years.
