Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a black currant and black cherry bouquet with hints of toasted coconut, vanilla, and cedar. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with nicely integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, super smooth, and dense, yet refined. The flavor profile is cassis, toasted coconut, and gentle graphite blend with notes of clove. We also detected hints of cinnamon tea, craisin and cedar. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins are very nicely prolonged. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with well-marbled cowboy ribeye. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2018 Merus is a dark and powerful wine. Aromas of cassis and blackberry fill the nose, with undertones of vanilla bean, cedar, and graphite. A full body and plush velvety tannins fill the mouth with deep flavors of saturated black fruits. Hints of vanilla and a fine grain oak texture from the 100% new French oak aging linger on the finish. Decant for one hour for maximum enjoyment.
