Wine Review: This opaque and dark purple colored Merlot opens with an attractive black cherry bouquet with a hint of menthol and blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, and suave. The flavor profile is a black cherry and gentle oak blend. There were also notes of black pepper detected. The finish is quite dry and its dusty tannins are slightly prolonged. This Merlot will pair well with a NY strip steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2007 Napa Valley Merlot shows aromas of plum and brambly blackberry along with vanilla, dark chocolate, baking spices and roasted sage. The mouthfeel is broad and lingering into the finish. The wine will age gracefully for the next ten years. Our favorite pairings include homemade pasta with a boar or veal ragu and very sharp cheeses.
