Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards opens with a blackberry and black plum bouquet with hints of black licorice, violets, and espresso. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, bold, and smooth. The flavor profile is stewed black plum and loam blend with notes of rhubarb and oak. We also detected hints of black currant, black tea, and clove. The finish is dry and long. The Tasting Panel would decant this Pinot before pairing it with burnt ends. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2022 vintage is a classic example. From the deep, dark color rise aromas of violets, black fruits, and mocha along with plum, boysenberry jam and bay leaf. The soft, round entry brings notes of black cherries and raspberries, cassis and herbes de Provence. On the finish, blood orange dances with juicy acidity amid lush, persistent tannins. We recommend painting with duck meatballs with pancetta-mushroom cream sauce.
