Wine Review: This very pale straw-colored Chardonnay from the Anderson Valley opens with a very inviting lemon zest and oak bouquet with hints of vanilla and chamomile tea. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, gentle and soft. The flavor profile is a light lemon and stone dust blend with notes of light oak and green tea. I also detected hints of light ginger and saline mixed in. The finish is dry, delicate and fades away nicely. I would pair this graceful Chard with a baked halibut with lemon garlic butter. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our Anderson Valley Chardonnay is a blend from sites that represent distinct terroir within the valley. The result is a fresh, vibrant, and bright Chardonnay from the other end of the wine spectrum that complements our opulent Olivet Lane bottling. The wine opens with aromatics that include Granny Smith apples, white peach, apricot, candied ginger, and gardenias. The palate is pretty on entry, with bright, mouthwatering acidity. The rich finish features hazelnut, some salinity, and a touch of white pepper. - Winemaker Heidi von der Mehden
