Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards opens with a black cherry and cinnamon bouquet with hints of violet, strawberry, vanilla, and orange peel. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and round with lots of tension. The flavor profile is stony minerality and red plum blend with notes of oak and black tea. We also picked up some hints of loam and rhubarb. The finish is dry, and its bold grippy tannins stick around for a while. The Tasting Panel would decant this Pinot before pairing it with a grilled hanger steak or a blue cheeseburger. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: We are proud to introduce Merry Edwards Dach Vineyard Pinot Noir from Anderson Valley. The Dach (pronounced "Dash") Vineyard is the flagship vineyard of our sister winery Domaine Anderson. On the nose, this inviting Pinot Noir offers notes of strawberry jam, fresh raspberry, vanilla, cinnamon, and wood spice, with hints of field herbs and redwood forest in the background. It is clean and ripe on entry, filled with red and yellow fruit, with rounded acidity and fine-grained, velvety tannins. The persistent finish features lingering notes of fig and plum.
