Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards was very well-received by our mini-tasting group. It opens with cola, clove, and cinnamon bouquet with hints of vanilla. On the palate is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is bright and juicy. The flavor profile is spiced plum and red raspberry blend with notes of cardamom and stony minerality. We also detected hints of blood orange and loam towards the end. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for a very long time. We would pair the Pinot with coq au vin. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A glistening ruby red, this wine exudes exotic spice, with dark, brooding notes of star anise, black raspberry and cherry cola lifting from the glass. The entry begins with a wave of silky, mouth-coating tannins. Black tea, forest floor, bittersweet chocolate and hints of graphite play together in this elegant wine. A touch of creamy vanilla enhances the long, lingering finish. Hide this away in your cellar and you will be amply rewarded for your patience.
