Wine Review: This straw-colored Chardonnay from Merry Edwards opens with a very inviting caramel and pineapple bouquet with notes of Bartlett pear. You could smell this wine for a very long time. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is round, balanced and nicely coats your mouth. The flavor profile is a rich oak influenced pineapple and Bartlett pear blend with notes of lemon. I also detected some hints white peach and caramel mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. This rich style of Chard would pair well with Emeril's crab cakes. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This golden, straw-colored wine glistens in the glass as the vibrant, aromatic nose offers notes of Meyer lemon curd, golden delicious apple, white peach, pineapple, crème brûlée, and toasted hazelnuts. A rich and round mouthfeel on entry is supported by perfectly balanced acidity. A touch of lime and other citrusy notes linger on the finish.
