Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards is very good. It opens with a strawberry and loam bouquet with hints of black cherry and orange zest. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with nicely integrated gentle acidity. The mouthfeel is super smooth and refined. The flavor profile is a strawberry and loamy earth blend with notes of black raspberry and stony minerality. The finish is dry, and its refined gentle tannins and flavors are nicely sustained. This Pinot is very food friendly and would pair with many foods if you do not drink it on its own. I would pair it with duck confit. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: As our new label reflects, the Meredith Estate is in a class by itself and represents the pinnacle of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Our flagship bottling comes from the first vineyard ever owned by Merry Edwards. The nose presents seductive, perfumed, floral notes that immediately lift from the glass. Creamy and round upon entry, this elegant wine slowly unfolds and reveals layers of Bing and black cherries, violets, baking spice and cocoa nibs. Well-integrated oak brings touches of vanilla and root beer. This is classic Meredith Estate with beautiful structure supported by well-balanced acidity and a slightly spicy, lingering finish.
