Wine Review: This dark yellow colored Chardonnay from Merry Edwards is Excellent. It opens with an inviting pineapple and lemon bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic, mouthwatering and round. The flavor profile is a delicious ripe Bartlett pear and pineapple blend with nicely integrated oak. I also detected a hint of lemon and vanilla custard. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. This Chardonnay can certainly be enjoyed on its own and it will not last long. I would also enjoy it with a sherry-laced lobster bisque. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2014 vintage has provided us with a stunning example of what this vineyard can produce. Its intense aroma is packed with creme brulee, peach cobbler, lemon meringue pie, Fuji apple, rose petals, ripe pineapple, sweet tangerine and passion fruit. Honey, toasted hazelnuts, caramel and cinnamon provide complex accents. The entry is extremely lush and creamy joined by all the aroma components unfolding across the palate. With all of this richness, the vibrant acidity creates an exquisite, diamond-bright balance.
