Wine Review: This slightly cloudy garnet colored Pinot Noir from the Russian River opens with a black cherry and strawberry bouquet with hints of cola, eucalyptus, and earth scents. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, juicy and round. The flavor profile is a tasty black raspberry with notes of integrated minerality. We also detected hints of cola, cranberry and oak. The finish is dry and its fruit and pleasant acidity linger for quite a long time. The Panel suggested pairing this Pinot with grilled pork chop. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The wine is immediately mouthwatering with its dark fruit aroma laced with Mariposa plum, sweet raspberries, blueberry preserves, brambleberries and Bing cherry. Enticing and appealing notes of smoked Spanish paprika, chili and crushed cardamom seeds add depth. Scents of violets and vanilla are balanced with charcuterie, cola and cremini mushrooms. In the mouth, this classic Klopp Pinot is bright, juicy and a bit saucy. It shows good acidity, which amplifies its approachable tannins leading to a cocoa-laced, cream soda finish. Each sip leads to the further discovery of this wine’s tremendous breadth.
