Wine Review: This translucent dark red colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards opens with musty black cherry-cola bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, refined and nicely coats your mouth. The flavor profile is a tasty mild red plum with notes of Dr. Pepper and gentle oak. I also detected a hint of strawberry. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins drift way nicely. This very good Pinot Noir would pair well with pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The intensely floral aroma features scents of cherry blossoms and fragrant roses. Ripe boysenberries, dark cherries, ripe raspberries and red plums are vibrantly present. A touch of nutmeg, soft caramel and vanilla hint at the barrel aging of this wine in 81 percent new French oak. This fine sweet oak also supports the palate, creating a rich and highly textural experience. Recent vertical tastings of vintages going back to 1999 have revealed the wine’s extraordinary capability for aging.
