Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards opens with a brambleberry bouquet with hints of black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, sleek and very approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty mild blackberry with notes black raspberry. I also detected hints of red beet and dark chocolate. The finish is dry and its flavors and gentle acidity fade away nicely. This Pinot is rather food friendly and would pair well with grilled salmon steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The aroma opens with scents of freshly baked blueberry pie, boysenberries, raspberries, black currants and dark cassis. Rich vanilla, cocoa powder, allspice and cinnamon add luscious accents to this mouthwatering Pinot. An elusive floral note perhaps lupine or hibiscus enthralls us even further. A gentle entry to the palate evolves into increased richness in the midpalate. This expansion culminates in a smooth, sumptuous finish. Georganne definitely will gain even more breadth, depth and complexity as it spends time in your cellar. Pair with stuffed leg of lamb small French fingerling potatoes.
