Wine Review: This almost clear colored Sauvignon Blanc from Merry Edwards was one of our top choices in our recent blind tasting. It opens with a mild lime and gentle grapefruit bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, very refined, elegant, and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a very tasty gentle green melon with hints of grapefruit, lemon and vanilla oak. The finish is dry and drifts away nicely. The panel suggested pairing this very nice wine with Coquilles St. Jacques or halibut with capers and a lemon drizzle. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Sophisticated and polished, this wine reflects its mature, low-yielding vineyard components. The aroma is bursting with lychee fruit, fig, guava and ripe pear. This solid fruit core is wrapped in a mantle of subtle, creamy oak, with just a touch of minerality. In the mouth, it shows a vibrant, mouthwatering acidity with a hint of pink grapefruit on the smooth finish. Asian-style Pan-Fried Corvina Sea Bass with Sauvignon Blanc-simmered Leeks and Shiitake Mushrooms by Lanneth Lee. Absolutely delectable, this recipe can be found on our recipe page at merryedwards.com.
