Wine Review: This very dark colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards opens with an attractive black raspberry bouquet with hints of cola and blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth and nicely displays it ripe fruit. The flavor profile is a tasty black raspberry with nicely integrated old oak. I also detected hints of cola and boysenberry. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger for quite some time. This sturdy Pinot will appeal to fans of bigger reds. I would pair this gem with a New York strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2011 vintage is an absolute knockout! Its mouthwatering, intense aroma is full of syrupy cassis, luscious black raspberry, ripe blueberry and crushed sweet black cherry. Layers of cocoa, sweet tobacco and Bergamot tea add depth and complexity. The rich, sleek palate is intriguing with its grainy, smooth yet powerful tannins and seemingly endless finish. Like its predecessors, this captivating Pinot will age brilliantly.
