Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot from Merry Edwards was one of our top scoring wines in our first Pinot Big Blind tasting. It opens with a pleasant black currant and mild cherry bouquet with a hint of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, polished and has a very nice presence. The flavor profile is a tasty plum and oak blend with hints of black cherry and cola. The finish is dry and lingers so nicely. The panel suggested that you could enjoy this Pinot on its own with friends. It won’t last very long! Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This wine lives up to its name, Coopersmith, reflecting the gregarious and generous nature of my husband, Ken! It’s a rich, forward wine packed with blueberry, cassis, cherry and huckleberry fruit. Highlights of licorice, black tea, cocoa, cinnamon, white pepper and a hint of orange oil round out its aromatic complexity. Solid, ripe grape tannins and toasty vanilla oak sourced from François Freres give the broad palate a lush feel so typical of this vineyard. This Pinot will live happily in your cellar, improving for many years to come.
