Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards opens with a musty black plum and pomegranate bouquet with hints of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty black currant with nicely integrated minerality and gentle toasted oak. The panel also detected some hints of plum. The finish is dry and its flavors linger for quite some time. The panel suggested pairing this hearty Pinot with slow cooked roast beef or Peking duck. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Meredith's special terroir creates wines of elegant intensity exemplified by this 2010 vintage. It literally unfolds out of the glass layer by layer. The aroma opens with ultraripe dark cherry, black raspberry, deep blue plum and loganberry. Next hints of lavender and violet unfurl along with accents of toasty oak and crushed clove. This weighty Pinot is full in the mouth with plush, fine-grained tannins creating a velvety finish.
