Wine Review: This Pinot Noir is pitch black and opens with a mild black raspberry bouquet with a hint of old leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth, and sensational. The flavor profile is a delicious blackberry and mild black raspberry blend. I also detected some nicely integrated oak and hints of black plum. This may be the best Pinot I have covered by Merry. The finish is dry and its elegant fine tannins drift away nicely. This wine would be perfect with rosemary and thyme seasoned grilled pork tenderloin. Enjoy this gem and share with friends! - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The aroma is deeply layered, opening with the distinctive white pepper signature of the 2009 vintage. This quickly expands into a perfume rich with blueberries, wild roses, plums, blackberries, lavender and violets. Accents of exotic Indian spice, sweet pipe tobacco and vanilla bean heighten the experience. On the palate, its fine bones support layers of full, generous tannin and acidity. This Pinot, though tightly wound, is poised, just waiting for time to release its full potential.
