Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot from Merry Edwards opens with a black raspberry and plum bouquet with a hint of old leather and vanilla oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty oak infused tart black plum. The panel also detected notes of chocolate and black cherry in the blend. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. The panel suggested pairing this gem with a veal chop or some game like partridge. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The opening fragrance of this Pinot reveals scents of crushed, sweet red cherries, ripe raspberries and jasmine tea. As the appealing aroma expands and unfolds, its floral perfume exhibits hints of violets, blueberries, licorice and nutmeg. The palate is sweet and savory with a smooth, sleek mouthfeel and fine-grained tannins extending the full finish. This wine's gentle, approachable character belies its potential for long-term aging.
