Wine Review: This very opaque and dark purple colored Pinot Noir opens with a fragrant black raspberry bouquet with hints of black cherry and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very well balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a delicious black currant with notes of black raspberry, black licorice, and a touch of oak towards the end. The finish is dry and its well managed tannins are pleasantly prolonged. This Pinot would pair perfectly with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The character of this vintage seems a bit more exotic than usual, with allspice and juniper berries accenting a core of classic toasty, bramble-blackberry fruit. Cola, plum, bacon and cocoa add complex layers to the aroma. The palate is smooth and supple upon entry, becoming increasingly tarry and ripe with aeration. Tannins are bountiful but softly understated and lush leading to a stately, extended finish.
