Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Pinot noir opens with a mild oak and black plum bouquet with a hint of black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, and quite savory. The flavor profile is a moderate oak infused plum with notes of black pepper and black raspberry. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are slightly prolonged. This wine really smoothes out with some air and would be perfect with roasted pork tenderloin with an apple chutney. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Cherries are the hallmark character of the Pommard clone and they are generously featured here ― dark Bing and Queen Anne along with fragrant cherry blossoms. Hints of red roses, spicy oak and brambleberries heighten the appeal of the wine's mouthwatering aroma. The focused palate displays black plums, licorice and hedgerow fruits. Ripe and rich in the mouth with soft, fine-grained tannins, this Pinot shows the superb balance essential for long-term aging.
