Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Sauvignon Blanc from Merriam opens with a gentle white grapefruit and light Bartlett pear bouquet with hints of lime zest and nectarine pit. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, zesty and fresh. The flavor profile is a light lime and white grapefruit blend with notes of saline and Granny Smith apple. I also detected hints of kumquat. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. This Sauvignon Blanc benefits from some initial swirling. Then I would pair it with grilled sea scallops. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: This Sauvignon Blanc coming from the cool climate of our Eastside Estate brings out the topical citrus notes of pear, mango, and key lime. The aroma is characterized by immediate hints of lemon and key lime. While strong notes of pear are found on the mid-palate with green apple that contributes to balancing the acidity of the wine. A crisp, citrus forward refresher, perfect when served chilled for any occasion.
