Wine Review: This golden yellow colored Chardonnay from Merriam opens with a ginger, oak, and pear bouquet with hints of pineapple. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and dense. The flavor profile is an oak influenced Anjou pear with notes of marzipan and vanilla wafer. We also detected hints of butterscotch and pineapple. The finish is dry, and its flavors drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Chardonnay with lobster bisque. If you like an oaky-styled Chard this one is for you. Theresa loved it. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This medium bodied wine opens with delicate notes of lemon grass and white florals, evolving into a complex yet balanced expression, which showcases the natural beauty of Chardonnay in an old-world fashion. The long finish progresses into silky lemon meringue pie and notes of vanilla and custard.
