Wine Review: This ruby red colored Pinot Noir from Merriam opens with a fragrant red raspberry and craisin bouquet with slight hints of black tea and loam. On the palate, palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, approachable and juicy. The flavor profile is a black plum and mild chalky minerality blend with notes gentle black tea and nutmeg. I also detected some hints of black cherry and oak. The finish is dry and its polished moderate tannins build-up and stick around for quite a while. This crowd-pleasing Pinot will be liked by many. It is versatile and food friendly. I would pair it with a Toulouse style cassoulet. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of rose petal, cranberry, and red currant translate beautifully onto the palate showcasing lively hints of hibiscus tea and geranium. Bright acidity makes this a delightful sipping wine with or without a food pairing.
