Wine Review: This dark garnet colored Pinot Noir from Merriam opens with a black raspberry and spiced black plum bouquet with hints of fresh cedar, tobacco leaf, and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, super smooth and fruit forward. Those fruit flavors are similar to the nose, featuring black raspberry and spiced black plum with notes of crush stone and blackberry tea. We also detected some hints of black pepper, cocoa, and cedar. The finish is dry, and its acidity and managed fine tannins show nice length. We would pair this Pinot with Nana's meatballs and gravy or with a German pork schnitzel with mushroom gravy. Enjoy – Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: On the nose, this medium-bodied Pinot Noir showcases notes of raspberry and black peppercorn. These aromas are balanced by hints of rosemary, complemented by blackberry on the finish.
