Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Merlot from Merriam opens with a cranberry and mulberry bouquet with hints of cigar tobacco leaves and black coffee. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, fresh, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a tasty red licorice and red raspberry blend with notes of mocha and clove. I also detected hints of cinnamon and craisin in the after taste. The finish is dry, and its fruit, acidity and gentle fine tannins fade away nicely. I would pair the fruity Merlot with a salmon burger. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The Albini Merlot is a silky red wine with a kick. Presents delightful aromas of bright raspberry and pink peppercorn. As it unfolds on the palate, layers of flavor start to emerge, leading to a savory fig and licorice. This Merlot is an excellent choice for pairing with a charcuterie spread, elevating any reception with friends to an unforgettable experience.
