Wine Review: This very slightly cloudy and dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Merriam opens with a lingonberry and dark cherry bouquet with hints of Play Doh and pencil shavings. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and zesty. The flavor profile is lingonberry and red licorice blend with notes of cedar and boysenberry. We also picked up some hints of black cherry, crushed stone, chocolate truffle. The finish is dry and its moderate sticky tannins linger and last for a while. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with a seafood and chicken paella with chorizo or with a duck cassoulet. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: From nose to palate this full-bodied Cabernet showcases aromas and taste profiles of red berries, vanilla, cinnamon, and cedar. Finishing with lingering notes of sweet chili pepper and structured tannins.
