Wine Review: This pale straw colored Sauvignon Blanc from Merriam opens with a fragrant mango and papaya like bouquet with hints of pineapple and banana. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and soft for a Sauvignon Blanc. The flavor profile is a gentle papaya with notes of mild tangerine and honeydew melon. There is also gentle minerality throughout and a touch of pineapple as well. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This tropical styled Sauvignon Blanc is very food friendly. I would pair with a five fruit chicken. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Light straw in color with hints of honey, ginger, honeysuckle and ripe pineapple on the nose. This wine tastes like extracting the nectar out of a honeysuckle flower with rich textures of green apple, lemon verbena, grapefruit and white peach. It has a nice long lingering finish that makes you want to go back for more.
