Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Merlot from Merriam opens with a pleasant black raspberry and black currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and very approachable. The flavor profile is a bright black plum with notes of mild minerality, black raspberry and blueberry. The finish is dry and its mild tannins and fruit are nicely prolonged. I would suggest pairing this Merlot with Kobe sliders. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 13th vintage of Merriam Vineyards Merlot. 2012 brings a deep dark purple hue. As always, this vineyard shows great notes of raspberry, dark dried cherry with notes of vanilla. A thick viscous mouth feel with flavors of cherry and cassis. Medium acidity, light tannins still young and "will age well." Enjoy!
