Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Merriam opens with a gentle red cherry bouquet with faint hints of black raspberry, chewing tobacco and a whiff of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a mild strawberry and spiced plum blend with a nice streak of minerality. I also detected hints of tart cranberry, oregano and black tea. The finish is dry and it slides away nicely. This Pinot is food friendly and would pair well with a duck breast with a pomegranate-citrus glaze. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Full, rich and layered, with a firm and fleshy core of well-integrated dark fruit and spice. Great intensity and focus. Ending with a long and complex finish.
