Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Pinot Noir from Merriam is Excellent! It opens with a boysenberry and black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, super smooth and rich. The flavor profile is a delicious blackberry and boysenberry blend with hints of cherry-cola and gentle oak. I also detected hints of clove towards the end. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors drift away nicely. This limited production Pinot Noir is terrific and the best one I have covered from Merriam. I personally would enjoy it on its own. That said, it would also pair very well with baked salmon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Bright red hues, aromas of red fruit, blueberry, raspberry, ripe cherry and light tea leaves. This wine has a soothing mouthfeel with flavors of cherry pie, vanilla ice cream and notes of mild baking spice. With elegance and grace, this wine exemplifies the magnificence and power of this beautiful Pinot Noir. The top two barrels out of thirty were picked for this wine.
