Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Merriam is very good. It opens with a mild red raspberry tea bouquet with a hint of pomegranate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is tasty gentle red plum and raspberry blend with notes of faint minerality. I also detected hints of red cherry and mild old oak mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This Pinot is quite food friendly and would pair nicely with a warm asparagus and mushroom salad with sliced roast duck breast. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine has a beautiful dark color of garnet with hints of sapphire. An inspiring nose with fresh pealed oranges, cherry and leather. This wine is rich and lush, with a silky texture. There are flavors of rhubarb, cherry, raspberry, and vanilla. With elegance and grace, this wine exemplifies the magnificence and power of this beautiful Pinot Noir. The top two barrels out of thirty were picked for this wine.
