Wine Review: The "Jones Vineyard" Cabernet Franc has consistently been well received by our Tasting group. The 2013 vintage from Merriam is another impressive effort and was really liked by our tasting group. It is opaque and dark ruby colored and opens with a black raspberry bouquet with some hints of new leather. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, round and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty black raspberry with notes of minerality and plum. We also detected hints of black pepper and some cedar plank as it faded away. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins build up and stick around for a while. The group thought this Cab Franc would be especially good with food. We suggested Roy's rib roast. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A gravel lined driveway leads to a pomegranate, plum and black cherry orchard. Once there, you will taste concentrated red fruit, dense tannins and black pepper. There's a hint of brightness from underlying acidity that peaks on the mid-palate before the long lingering finish.
