Wine Review: This pale yellow-straw colored Chardonnay opens with an inviting and refreshing bouquet of stone fruits including apricots and peaches. I also detected hints of pineapple. On the palate, it is medium bodied, zesty and refreshing. Yet, it is at the same time slightly creamy. The flavor profile is a slightly tart lemon and lime blend along with notes of light oak, toast, vanilla, butter and green apple. I enjoyed the balanced bright acidity and the modest tartness of the fruit. It all carries through to a slightly dry extended finish. I would pair this California Chardonnay with grilled chicken breast topped with melted provolone cheese on a toasted bun with a mild horseradish mayonnaise. – Joe
Winemaker Notes: This light gold colored wine is both warm and fresh on the nose, with scents of toasted bread, lemon blossom and traces of honeysuckle. On the palate, it is round and then peaks with a vibrant flash of acidity before shifting again to a luxurious coat of the mouth. The taste of fresh apricots and peaches imparts a lush richness, brightened by the zing of citrus. It closes with an enlivening and enticing finish.
