Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Grenache from the Dry Creek Valley opens with a pomegranate and black plum bouquet with a hint of black raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and juicy. The flavor profile is a candied cherry and stewed plum blend with some notes of oak and mild minerality. Finally, it concludes with hints of nutmeg and craisin just before the finish. The finish is dry and its flavors and gentle acidity fade away after a bit. This Grenache is a food wine and it would pair well with a Charcuterie platter and some sharp cheeses. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Grenache is quickly becoming one of our best selling wines. It's the perfect before-dinner wine, with fruit, spice and herbal notes balancing beautifully. This 2014 comes from our friend Harold Hoskins and his Dry Creek Valley vineyard--and you can taste some classic DCV notes in this wine: hints of creekside brambles, earth, and lavender. This wine has a gorgeous dark ruby color, hints of floral oak, and wonderful fruity complexity.
