Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Meeker opens with a mild pomegranate and red raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, smooth and shows nice finesse. The flavor profile is a tasty mild plum with notes of gentle strawberry and nicely integrated fine minerality. I also detected a touch of pomegranate. The finish is dry and fades away nicely. This Pinot is very refined and would pair nicely with a delicate meal. I am thinking the French Laundry’s Devil’s Gulch Ranch Rabbit Sirloin. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is a classic Pinot Noir. It has the hallmark flavors of a Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot, including cherries, clove, herbal notes, and hints of black pepper. The wine is bold and powerful, yet surprisingly light on the palate due to bright acidity. You’ll love the balance of fruit and earthy flavors. And you'll wonder how it would pair with a nice pork loin or duck breast while you contemplate opening another bottle.
