Wine Review: This crowd-pleasing Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon is a translucent red color, and offers up aromas of red currant, cinnamon, black cherry, leather jacket, and wet clay. Fruit focused on the palate, it's juicy, balanced, straightforward, and medium-plus bodied with lively medium-plus acidity. There are flavors of black cherry, black tea, tarragon, basil, loam, and oak along with notes of graphite and tar. Nicely managed, persistent fine-grained tannins linger for a while in the dry finish. This food friendly Cab would go well with some char-grilled steak tips. - Mark

Winemaker Notes: "Sometimes you have to grab the bull by the horns," is what my father always told me when he smelled a challenge. Today my biggest challenge is Cabernet Sauvignon. I love crafting balanced, textured, decadent Cabernets. But the real challenge is: How do you make great Cabernet for an affordable price? My answer is ...Bull by the Horns. The 2022 displays Bing cherry, black currant, red licorice, blond roast coffee, cloves, sassafras, grilled herbs, super fine-grained tannins that glide across the palate.
